I’ve really only ever learned three things

I thought it might be fitting to christen this new personal blog by beginning with what I think of as the only three things I’ve ever really learned:

1. There absolutely is a God.
2. I most certainly am not God.
3. God doesn’t owe me anything.

It has gotten to the point among friends and a few students that it is enough to simply hold up one, two, or three fingers amid the wonder or frustration being expressed by them or myself.  I think I’ll do the same when writing for this site.

“….but I just don’t understand….1”
“…but that’s not what I want…2”
“…but I’ve worked so hard, it isn’t fair…3”

We are all mere children thrashing against the embrace of a loving God. More soon…
